Got tired of bringing a Nissan I have to Autozone every few weeks to see if a code has changed. Keep getting a misfire in cylinder 2 but haven't yet ran a compression check. Seems like it was the spark plugs but replaced them all and still misfire. Swapped the coil on plugs between 1 and 2 hoping the error would come back as 1 so I would know that's the issue. Anyway. I bought this tool when my "check engine" light came on. It showed me what "codes" I had stored in my truck. I looked up the codes and found that I probably need a new gas cap. I bought this unit while it was on sale. I had a Jeep which had the check engine light on. It took me just a minute to follow the instructions, plug it in, read the codes and erase them. That's all I bought this unit for, and it did that perfectly. This inexpensive tool saved me a trip to the shop. Thought I my ERG valve was bad because of the age of my vehicle. I was able to read the code which led me to simply replacing the gas cap. Have you ever had the "Check Engine" light go off in your vehicle and winced at how much it would cost you to fix. Well I did until I finally owned up and bought this little miracle. I estimate it has saved me nearly a thousand dollars on repairs simply because now I can read the code, find out what's wrong and fix it without having to get taken for a ride at the local mechanics shop. The code checker does exactly what it is intended to do. The disc that comes with it to tell you what the code means doesn't do anything. You need to go to other sites to find the meanings of the code. It allows you to reset your Service Engine light also, which is a nice feature.Value Quality Price
